The Macebell Barbarian Squat The macebell barbarian squat is a versatile exercise. Like the kettlebell goblet squat it works the grip, core, and glutes. However, due to the inherent offset load of the macebell, it’s very challenging….and rewarding. Hold the end of the shaft keeping the macebell head pointed up. For less difficulty take a higher grip on the shaft. Do the opposite for more difficulty. Start with the shaft close to your belly, the head at 12 o’clock. Press the macebell forward and raise your hands to eye level locking your elbows. Keep the head of the mace angled towards you when your elbows are locked. Squat. Raise. Return to the start position.
